What to discuss during 1:1’s?

Whats acceptable to talk about in your 1:1’s?
Have my second job as a junior (less that YOE) and now have weekly 1:1’s for the first time. Usually it’s just short chit chat and ends within 15 minutes.
My question is: is it ok to tell you manager that you feel like you’re not doing as well as you wish you were? Some days I feel great after work, some days I feel bad that I’m on my team. Is this feeling ok to share or should I just deal with it alone?
Top Comment: What do you want to get out of the 1:1s? Sometimes I use the time to catch my manager up on what's happening on my project, as he is sometimes too busy to track everything. This also gives him visibility into what I'm working on. Sometimes I use the time to let my manager know I'm getting pulled into too many directions. At one point I was swapping between 3 projects on the team, all with different tech stacks, and my head was spinning. I told him I need to focus on one, maybe two if he wants my best work. The majority of the time the conversation is centered on my career advancement. I want promotion in the not-too-distant future and I keep very open lines of communication with my manager about that. I'm constantly asking for clarification on what the guidelines are for promotion, what are my growth areas, how is my overall performance, what timeline is he tracking for my promotion, etc.
